See

All I can hear is

the beat of your heart.

Enveloped in your arms,

I never want you to let go.

I want to stay like this

 forever.

The world seems silent,

but it’s sonorous with sensation.

The feel of your warm body pressed against mine

causes my soul to sing.

The feel of your fingers gently exploring my body

shoots shivers up and down my spine.

We don’t need eyes to see.

We see with our fingers,

with our hearts,

with our souls.

When we close our eyes, the world is suddenly clear.

We finally see

love.

In a Cloud

Surrounded by soft, shimmering wisps

That glow in the moonlight

And caress your face,

Held aloft in a blanket of velvet,

You gaze up at the multitude of stars above.

As you float serenely across the sky,

All you can feel is wonder.

The weight on your heart is finally lifted.

Despite the clouds that surround you,

Your mind is completely clear.

You have no fear.

Because like the universe,

You are infinite.

Meeting a Mink

I wrote the following poem after seeing a mink in the wild for the first time.  I was hiking with my dad near the river and spotted the little guy through my binoculars. It was so amazing to see!! Being in nature makes me so happy. :)

Meeting a Mink

Jet black fur, against a backdrop of white

Two contrasting pieces

That somehow fit perfectly into place.

I watch in wonder as your whimsical form prances

Soundlessly across the snow,

Before you disappear,

Hidden down a hole.

Shy nymph of the winter,

Your brief presence has brightened my day.
